Going back 5 days to my initial list of possible gag ideas from the 'Leaders and Kings' table in my Reader's Digest Reverse Dictionary, I'd now like to briefly have a go at generating comedy from the word 'Tsar'.
I'll now go into a spell of creative thinking, or creative googling:
What is / was a Tsar:
The Tsars were the royal heads of state / kings in Russia for 1000 years or so before the Russian revolution.
Tsar sounds like 'star'; in fact it is the two are anagrams of each other.
I'd like to link 'star' with Russian royalty. If I see a link, I know I'll find a joke.
Inputting 'stars' into google, the first suggestion google gives is 'Stars in Their Eyes', a TV show in which members of the public impersonate famous singers.
Zap! 'Tsars in their Eyes!'
There is a joke, it just needs a little fine-tuning.
This is my first attempt at fine-tuning it:
Did you hear about that new TV show where people impersonate the old Russian kings?
It's called 'Tsars in Their Eyes.'
Actually, that's not too bad a joke.
I hope you've enjoyed this so far.
Best regards, Marc.
